USALI 12th edition: market segments

Vikram Aditya Singh

Excited to share insights inspired by the new USALI 12th Edition on Market Segments! Having engaged with industry experts in Sales, Marketing, and Distribution, aligning terminology is key for data analysis and performance monitoring.

In essence, there are 3 Market Segments: TRANSIENT, GROUP, and CONTRACT, each with their own subsegments.

TRANSIENT includes RETAIL, DISCOUNT, NEGOTIATED, QUALIFIED, and WHOLESALE subsegments.

GROUP comprises CORPORATE, ASSOCIATION/CONVENTION, GOVERNMENT, TOUR/WHOLESALERS, SMERF, and MICE subsegments.

Let's common size this for better understanding and consistency in reporting across Asset Management, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and Revenue Optimization. Looking forward to sharing more insights with you all! Please feel free to inbox me if I may assist or guide or clarify. This is the USALI recommended linking and it is how the PMS and Distribution Software should be setup.
